Holiday Activities and Food  Programme

What is the Holiday Activities and Foor Programme?

The Holiday, Activities and Food (HAF) programme is a government funded scheme that aims to provide childcare and nutritional meals to children from disadvantaged families during the school holidays.

Marcus Rashford, the Manchester United and England footballer, brought childhood food poverty to the public’s attention during the school holidays in 2020. This year saw the government increase funding to £220 million to help these children and families.

In the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, the HAF Programme has been renamed FUEL - Feed Ur Everyday Lives.

The FUEL programme provides healthy food and enriching activities during school holidays to children who are eligible for benefits related to free school meals. It is funded by the government under the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme and is expected to run throughout 2024.

The aim of the FUEL programme is:

To eat healthily and understand nutrition.

To be more active through engaging and enriching activities.

To be safe and not to be socially isolated.

Parent Feedback
"Fantastic holiday club. This is the first time my son has been and he has said it is his favourite club and can't wait to cone back at Easter.
Fantastic location, really friendly staff and coaches - really kind and great with my son.

Brilliant hours meaning I can still work my full day, for a great price, made even better by the discounts.
Will definitely be booking again!"
